The DD5V5 Hunter is ideal for hunting enthusiasts. Chambered in either 6.5 Creedmoor or .260 Rem., DD5V5 Hunter provides users of the Daniel Defense semi-automatic platform even greater long-range precision shooting capability by featuring two of the top short action cartridges available for today’s modern long range shooters. Both the .260 Rem. and the 6.5 Creedmoor take advantage of superior ballistic coefficients to offer both flatter trajectories and reduced wind drift at levels normally reserved for much heavier recoiling long action calibers. These gains in ballistic efficiency help the modern shooter stretch the effective range out to 1,000 meters or more. This highly accurate and durable rifle includes an adjustable gas block that allows for a consistent feel whether shooting suppressed or unsuppressed. The perfected bolt carrier group reduces overall recoil impulse and is easy to maintain and operate in all conditions.

2 White Tail in 2 MinutesI purchased the DD5V5 Hunter in .260 REM w/ a Leupold VX-5HD on top and I couldn’t be more happy! When sighting it in the gunsmith didn’t want to give it back; he said at 100yds the 3 round group was a raged hole about the size of a single round! That weekend I took it up hunting, and had a big doe come in broad side and took the shot. One min later the biggest buck of my life (9 Point) came in sniffing for the doe, he walked right where I shot the doe only 2 min before. I took the shot and watched him run off. The doe was heart shot and made it 50 yards with a solid blood trail, the buck made it about 70 yards with a blood trail so wide it it looked like someone painted the trail. The muzzle break on the Hunter version is incredible! My ears weren’t ringing at all after 2 shots without hearing protection. The kick was hardly noticeable too. The fit and finish on the gun is seconds to none. All-in-all this is a top of the line rifle, it really shows you get what you pay for. This is my second Daniel Defense, I also own the DDM4 V7Pro that gun is incredible as well. I would recommend Daniel Defense to everyone.

Great Shooting GunI purchased the DD5V5 Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor from Europtics. I used Seekins 34mmX20MOA cantilever rings to mount a Vortex Razor 4.5X27X56 scope. The gun was easy to sight-in and the barrel was broken in after 40 rounds. Using a 100 yard zero I have shot the gun at 200,300,400 and 500 yard targets using Hornady Precision Hunter 143g ELDX ammo. The gun and scope combination worked very well and I was able to use the "dope" from my ballistics calculator to hit all targets first shot at each distance. The rifle shot sub MOA at 200 and 300 yards and hit 8" steel at 400 yards and 500 yards. I've got 72 rounds through the gun at this time and have had no issues with its operation. I'm very please with the guns performance.
